Residential Water Conditioning Rollout
“there was no reason to go back to salt”
Overview
This project represents a large-scale residential rollout of salt-free water conditioning technology across new homes built by Boise Hunter Homes, with distribution and installation support from Consolidated Supply and licensed plumbing partners throughout the United States.
Following a successful pilot in Idaho, the Sidon Integro™ system is now being deployed as a preferred residential water conditioning solution, offering homeowners the benefits of conditioned water – without salt, chemicals, ongoing maintenance, or environmental discharge.
The program is designed to scale efficiently across developments, providing builders and plumbers with a reliable, easy-to-install solution that improves homeowner experience while supporting long-term infrastructure and sustainability goals.
Program: National Residential Water Conditioning Rollout
Customer: Boise Hunter Homes
Partners: Consolidated Supply and regional plumbing contractors
Industry: Residential Construction & Water Treatment
Market: United States
Solution: Sidon Water – Sidon Integro™
Deployment: 120+ homes (and growing)
Background: From Pilot to Standard Specification
Like many residential developments relying on groundwater wells, early Boise Hunter Homes projects faced challenges associated with hard water, iron, and manganese – typically addressed using traditional salt-based water softeners.
To evaluate alternatives, a Sidon Integro™ unit was installed in parallel with an existing salt softener, allowing the homeowner to switch back easily if performance did not meet expectations. After more than one year of continuous use, the salt softener was never put back into service.
The result: confidence from both homeowners and the builder that Sidon Integro™ delivers real-world performance, not just laboratory claims.
Homeowner Experience & Feedback
Homeowner feedback played a critical role in validating the technology for broader rollout. After decades of living in homes with hard, mineral-heavy groundwater, one homeowner summarized the experience simply: there was no reason to go back to salt.
Key observations included:
- Noticeably improved hair and skin feel, without the slick or over-softened sensation common with salt systems
- Significant reduction in iron and manganese staining on shower tile and fixtures
- Scale buildup that previously required harsh chemicals and power tools now forms more slowly and cleans easily
- Long-term scale removal that stayed clean for over a year
- No need to store, haul, or replenish heavy salt bags
- Reclaimed garage space previously occupied by a bulky softener system
For Boise Hunter Homes, this level of homeowner satisfaction confirmed the Integro™ system as a practical, long-term residential solution.
The Solution
The Sidon Integro™ system uses advanced electron-based water conditioning to address limescale, iron, and mineral buildup – without removing beneficial minerals or adding salt.
Instead of ion exchange or chemical treatment, Integro™ restructures scale-forming minerals so they remain suspended in the water and do not adhere to pipes, fixtures, or appliances. Existing scale is gradually reduced over time.
Key advantages for residential builders and homeowners:
- Salt-free and chemical-free operation
- No routine maintenance or consumables
- Protection for plumbing systems and appliances
- Improved water experience without taste or texture changes
- Compact design and straightforward installation
- Compatible with municipal water and private wells
Looking Ahead
With growing demand for salt-free, low-maintenance water solutions, this rollout continues to expand through additional Boise Hunter Homes developments and new builder and plumbing partners nationwide.
The program demonstrates how residential construction can deliver better water outcomes for homeowners—without increasing complexity, cost, or environmental impact.

Case Studies
Boise Hunter Homes – Residential Water Conditioning Without Salt
Dry Creek Ranch (DCR), a growing residential development in Idaho, faced mounting challenges related to traditional salt-based water softeners. While many homeowners relied on these systems to combat hard water, their widespread use was creating a strain on the local wastewater treatment system—raising long-term environmental and financial concerns for the community.
