Industry: Gyms & Leisure
Location: David Lloyd Chigwell, Essex
Installation Type: Cold water main & hot water recirculation loop
Background
David Lloyd Chigwell is a high-usage leisure facility with extensive demand across showers, poolside areas, and domestic services. Like many sites in the South East, it experiences persistent hard-water conditions, resulting in limescale accumulation within calorifiers, pipework, and outlets. These issues have contributed to increased maintenance intervention and asset degradation over time.
Challenge
- Visible limescale build-up on valves and fittings
- Recurrent showerhead blockages
- Evidence of scale and corrosion within hot water systems
- Requirement for a salt-free solution compatible with existing water hygiene regimes
Our Solution
Integro™ Solution
Following a detailed site survey, two Integro™ units were proposed:
- Integro™ 3 installed on the cold water main to treat all incoming water
- Integro™ 2 installed on the hot water return loop to target scale removal and ongoing protection of hot water assets
Installation locations were selected to maximise coverage while requiring minimal pipework alteration.
Monitoring & Verification
- Pre-installation photographic documentation of calorifiers and fittings
- Replacement of selected showerheads for comparative monitoring
- Planned inspection after 60 days to assess descaling progress and prevention
Outcome (Early Stage)
David Lloyd Chigwell was confirmed as a strong proof-of-concept site, offering clear evidence of hard-water problems and straightforward opportunities to verify Integro™ performance. The site provides measurable indicators for long-term operational improvement and system protection.
