Sidon Water Advances in $119m XPRIZE Water Scarcity Challenge

The Integro™ technology recognised globally as a breakthrough solution for sustainable desalination and water efficiency

Edinburgh, UK – September 22, 2025 – Sidon Water has been named a Qualified Team in the $119 million XPRIZE Water Scarcity competition, one of the world’s largest incentive prizes focused on securing sustainable global water supplies.

The competition recognises breakthrough technologies that deliver affordable, reliable, and sustainable desalination. Sidon Water’s Integro™ stood out for its ability to:

  • Improve reverse osmosis (RO) and desalination efficiency
  • Reduce energy demand and chemical usage
  • Extend membrane life while lowering operating costs
  • Deliver cleaner, lower-conductivity product water

This recognition comes shortly after Cranfield University independently validated the Integro™, confirming measurable improvements in fouling reduction, permeability, and cost savings.

The Sidon Water team will continue to collaborate with utilities, industrial operators, and desalination experts to scale the Integro™ and help secure water resilience globally.

“Being shortlisted in XPRIZE Water Scarcity is a huge honour and global recognition of our mission. The Integro™ has already proven itself in the field and in independent validation. XPRIZE gives us a platform to accelerate adoption and partnerships worldwide.”
