Overview
Marlin Waterloo is a stylish apartment hotel located in the heart of London. It offers, affordable, luxurious and contemporary accommodation with all the city break essentials you need at arm’s reach.
The city of London is one of the areas most affected by hard water in the UK due to its rivers filled with chalky rocks. The
resulting calcium and magnesium minerals are carried throughout the city’s water systems and create hard water.
Key Issues
Marlin Waterloo were experiencing extreme limescale accumulation throughout their water systems and equipment, leaving them with:
- Plate heat exchangers had to be spilt to remove scale build-up within the plates
- Threat of closure in order to replace the pipework for the entire building
- Blocked shower heads
- In the hot water system, there was a recurring need for pump replacements
- Reduced operational efficiency of plate heat exchangers, pumps and other equipment
Our Solution
After carrying out a thorough site survey it was determined that an IntegroTM 6 unit would be installed on the outlet of the cold-water tank and an IntegroTM 4 positioned on the hot water system’s return.
Results
This successful installation led to the prevention & removal of scale from both the hot and cold-water systems, resulting in significant cost savings and the avoidance of hotel closures.
This positive result prompted Marlin Water to initiate plans for the rollout of Sidon IntegroTMtechnology across all their properties situated in hard water areas.
